he wears that sweater you like.
the one with blue and white stripes,
reminding you of your
and those family seaside holidays you adored.
these memories are so vivid you can almost taste them,
the taste of mischievous sand in your sandwiches
and the smell of sun cream stuck in your hair.
you think about how peaceful your life once was.
he takes off the sweater as the sun
beams across his chest,
lighting up those moments which can never be relived.
you see these memories flash before your eyes
like a broken cassette tape
flicking through your life
like a film
never stopping, until this moment.
suddenly the past is erased,
your memories leave nothing but a
scent of nostalgia,
longing for your return.
